Behind Glass
This acrylic painting was inspired by my cat, Olive, who often finds herself perched by the window, captivated by the world outside. I chose a warm colour palette, predominantly featuring yellows and browns, to evoke the comforting atmosphere of our home while contrasting it with the vibrant life outside. As I painted, I pondered whether she feels trapped by the glass barrier or content with the safety it provides. This piece captures that complex feeling—a blend of curiosity and security that defines both Olive's perspective and the nature of her observation.
